Once a Cesarean… Twice a Cesarean… Always a Cesarean?
The notion “Once a Cesarean, always a Cesarean” has been challenged. Recent recommendations (Aug 2010 by ACOG) even allow for a trial of labor and vaginal birth after two Cesarean deliveries in patients who meet certain criteria. We all have a responsibility to educate our patients and empower them with the knowledge needed for a well informed decision.

Bigger surgeries. Smaller incisions!
I just came back from Harvard’s Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery conference held in Boston. We are witnessing fast-paced advancements in technology. There is nothing big about a hysterectomy anymore when we can do it laparoscopically or robotically-assissted using the DaVinci or similar robotic devices.
