I now offer telemedicine or virtual heath care for those who can not or prefer not to present in person to my clinic.

A virtual visit is an appointment with me during which live video is used. All aspects and quality of the visit are similar to an in-person visit, except you don’t have to commute to the clinic. Virtual visits are optional and are offered for your convenience. I started offering this service in April 2018. If interested, ask me if this is a good option for you. An initial in-person visit is required for now (this might change in the future.)

This might be ideal for individuals living anywhere in Washington seeking services that are not available in their areas. This might be beneficial for native Arabic-speakers or for transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals requiring gender affirming care. Virtual care is also great for follow up appointments when you live far, when can’t take significant time off school or work, or when you need childcare to come to your visit.

Am I eligible?

You are eligible if:

  • Have an active MyChart account and able to log in
  • Have a wi-fi connected device with camera and speaker
  • Have any insurance coverage except Medicare
  • Doctor offers virtual visits
  • Doctor says patient meets clinical criteria for virtual care

A virtual visit is an appointment with your provider during which live video is used. All aspects and quality of the visit are similar to an in-person visit, except you do not have to commute to the clinic. Virtual visits are offered for your convenience.

The cost of a virtual visit is equivalent to what it would cost if you were to see the provider in person. Most payers cover virtual visits except Medicare.

If you are required to pay a copay during an in-person visit, then yes. A simple way to check in to your appointment and pay the copay is through MyChart.

You must have a wifi-enabled device with a camera and a speakerphone. Examples are smartphones, tablets and desktop computers.

Depending on the nature of your visit, it should be no different than an in-person visit.

You may be in any location in Washington state where you can safely access your device and have optimal internet connectivity.

Depending on the nature of your visit, a thermometer, blood pressure measurement and a flashlight could be helpful.

Virtual visits are never recorded and are encrypted to ensure privacy.
